March Favorites

I always love sharing what I am into…Readers seemed really into my February edition, so here is my top ten favorites for March:

1.  This is from the new collection of OPI line collection, Fifty Shades of Grey…this color is called, Embrace the Gray.  I got it on my toes too…I love how neutral this shade is and matches everything.

2.  BirchBox– Cutest box ever this month…I went though and changed my preferences recently, so my daughter and I could “share” our box.  We love looking forward to getting it in the mail every month.  Best thing in my box this month?  The Jelly Pong Pong Highlighter.

3.  Pink Grapefruit Perrier.  I gave up diet sodas again…not for Lent this time, but just for good.  I have had 2 diet Dr. Pepper cans since March 1st, which is an amazing feat for me.  Sparkling water is a crucial part of my life now.  (oh, I gave up gum too.  White girl problems at their finest.)

4.  These two amazing beauty finds.  Amika dry shampoo, and Lord & Berry eyeliner.  This dry shampoo (stop washing your hair so much by the way!) smells amazing, and the eyeliner has a little sparkle to it.   I read an article recently that said women over 30 shouldn’t wear sparkly makeup or hoop earrings.  The article also mentions scrunchies and overalls, which I totally get.  But hoop earrings and a little eye sparkle?  I can’t give that up.

5.  These Malabeads.  Every year for Christmas, my boss over at Laughing Buddha, gets us an amazing piece of jewelry.  I go through phases with my jewelry,  and I got these out and started wearing them more.   I have been using them as part of my meditation during my 21 day chakra cleanse.

6.  The Rodan and Fields AMPRoller.  I cannot believe I waited so long to use mine.   If you missed the (extremely amateur!) video my consultant Claire and I made CLICK HERE.  My skin has never looked so amazing.

7.  Flight Facilities song, Why Do You Feel.  I can’t get enough of this song right now.  Check out the other tunes I love right now on my Music Obsessions page.

8.  These wedges.  I cannot get enough of either pair.  I snagged these off a Facebook group I joined recently.  Women sell their gently used clothes/shoes/bags at great prices.  I bought the Toms for $15, and the Lily Pulitzer’s for only $50.

9.  Being on the Launch Team for Jen Hatmaker’s new book.  I started reading it and it is hilarious, touching, and exactly what I need to be reading right now. The timing is so unbelievable perfect.  I am so honored to be a part of this experience and I gained 499 friends.  I love that we are all reading and connecting through Jen’s book …#forthelove is almost like a secret club!

10.  Spring is here.  Daffodils are blooming, the weather is warmer, soccer season has started, longer daylight hours, and we are using the grill again.  Oh, and that precious face.

Intuitive Energy Course

Last Saturday, I attended an amazing workshop to learn to tap into the gift of Intuitive Energy Healing.   It was such a wonderful experience, I couldn’t wait to share it with you.

What is it?
Energetic Healing is an umbrella term for any therapy that manipulates the energy circuits in our physical or subtle bodies to regain balance and facilitate our body’s innate healing mechanisms.

Some of the more well know therapies that fall under the heading “energetic healing” include Reiki, Reflexology, Kinesiology, Thought Field Therapy and Acupuncture. However, energetic healing also encompasses lesser known natural therapies such as: Aura and Chakra balancing; Flower and Vibrational Essences, Crystal Healing, Colour Therapy, Spiritual Healing, and other forms of bodywork. Energetic healing practitioners are ususally trained in a number of modalities and will combine these in their own unique way. Many combine intuitive skills with their practical and theoretical skills.

Energetic healing takes a holistic approach that looks beyond the physical to manipulating the subtle energy systems (meridians, auric bodies, chakras, nadis) where the cause of the dis-ease can be located.

–Taken from Healing Energy

I have been drawn to this my whole life, but in the past few years, the pull has been pretty fierce.  I have experienced so much relief (physically and emotionally) from my own energy healing sessions, so the natural step for me was to do this so I can help others.

Jonathan Parham, an Intuitive, Medium, and Energy Healer led our group through the first of three stages.  He attuned us with modern day symbols, as well as traditional healing symbols.

After an in-depth discussion of chakras, spirit guides, healing methods, protection/grounding for ourselves, and suggestions for blessing the space, Jonathan led us through our attunement meditation.

Here we are! This group is unbelievable.  Some of us saw figures and shapes, some smelled sage, and mint.  I felt like my heart was going to explode with happiness/love/gratitude.  (My heart chakra is WAAAYYYY open.  I wish I could say the same for some of the other chakras that are out of whack!)

After our meditation, we all got a chance to receive and give energy work.  This was the best part for me…I am a hands on learner, so this is where it all made sense for me.  Actually performing the energy healing and adding in what felt “right” (that is the intuitive part) to me was such a spiritual, enlightening experience.

Now what?  I am on a 21 day cleansing cycle…everyone goes through this differently.  I am meditating for a few day on each chakra and using my hands to heal myself and balancing my own chakras.  I have practiced on my family and friends…and even Toby.  I am excited to get a beautiful handmade pendulum from my friend Tabitha this weekend.   After the 21 day cleanse, I will decide if I want to accept clients…which I think I will!   I can’t wait until May to work towards earning my Level 2 certification.

Exciting News!

I am on the Launch Team for Jen Hatmaker’s new book, For The Love:  Fighting for Grace in a World of Impossible Standards.  If you know me, you know how much I love Jen Hatmaker.  Crazy love.  She is my ultimate woman crush.  I read her books, read her blog, watch her shows, listen to her podcasts…I toe the line on stalking.  I started Project 12 after reading her book 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess.   Then I read her book Interrupted, and felt compelled to change the world again.  Basically she changed my life, and I am so grateful for her beautiful soul.  (I just wish she knew how much she would love me…I mean, we could be best friends!)

A friend of mine posted on my timeline that Jen Hatmaker was accepting applications for a launch team for her new book.  (which comes out in August…but you can preorder HERE)  I had some doubts, but went ahead and decided to go for it.  I  thought it was a long shot, so I didn’t put too much thought into after that.   Honestly, I thought some other really unworthy feelings, and said some stuff to myself that I would never say to a friend. (why do we do this?)

A few days later I received an email saying they had over 5,000 applications that were submitted.  There are only 500 spots to fill, so again the doubt in my head started to creep in.  (Would someone tell doubt to shut up and leave us alone?)

Yes.  Doubt, shut up.  Unworthiness, shut up.  Just stop coming around, because I am worth a ton.  I am grateful, loving, and open.  And guess what?  I am one of those 500.  I am good enough.

I was shaking with excitement when I heard the news.  I called my husband immediately, and of course had to break the news to him.   Jen could possibly ask me to marry her during this whole process…I just want him to be prepared.

Here is the deal with being on the Launch Team…

  • We get an early copy of the book
  • Jen is asking us (instead of celebrities) to endorse the book
  • When reading, if something speaks to us, we shout it out on social media, with the hashtag, #forthelove  (are you following me on FB, Twitter and Instagram?)
  • I do have to wait to do a full review on my blog until launch week   (sorry to keep ya’ll in suspense)
  • We were invited to a private FB page, where Jen herself has liked and commented. ” I cant even.”  (Her words.  My words. Our words.)
  • Proofread for typos, and other editing stuff.

I am still bursting with the excitement around this.  Stay tuned for some teasers!  (you know this book is going to be amazing!)
