Dinner for Twelve-Corkbuzz

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend!

Just wanted to pop in and tell you about my experience at Corkbuzz.  This was my third restaurant that I am featuring in the Dinner for Twelve series for the blog!

Corkbuzz is located in the Southpark area and is known for their extensive selection of wines.  They offer classes where you can learn more about types, how to pair with food and just simply taste the wines.

I invited one of my favorite wine-loving friends and her boyfriend to join Daniel and I.  We made sure to take our Plexus Block before indulging in all the wine!

The place settings are clean and simple.

We started out with a pinot noir.  This particular one was from a winery in Oregon, called Runaway Red.  There is an awesome story that goes along with this.  But, you’ll have to go in yourself to hear it!  Seriously, that is one thing I loved about Corkbuzz.  The staff told these amazing stories about every wine.

One thing on the menu that I loved were these flights.  Three 3 oz glasses of a category of wine.  My friend and I split the New World Pinot Noir and the 2015 selection of Rose.

Appetizers were served and no picture was taken.  We got the brussell sprouts, which had fennel, marcona almonds, and cheese curds.  The other couple ordered the grilled octopus, which had herb dumplings, bacon, macadamia nuts, and whipped feta.

Both phenomenal.

IMG_4438This is going to sound strange, but during the week, when I mentioned I was going to Corkbuzz, THREE separate people told me to get the burger.  I knew my hubby was going to be happy!  He is a beer and burger man for sure.  It is a bourguignon burger with red wine fondue, bacon-mushroom relish, and served with french fries.  Of course I had a bite and it absolutely melted in my mouth!

IMG_4439 My friend ordered the crab linguine (Which they did with gluten-free pasta for her!)  The Linguine dish had a ton of crab, english peas, castelvetrano olives, garlic confit, and farmer’s cheese.  Her boyfriend got the pork tenderloin which was cilantro rubbed, served with goat cheese potatoes, grilled romaine, and topped with blueberry jam.

I got the corvina sea bass which had artichokes, roasted brussels sprouts, and a charcuterie sauce.

Perks of being a blogger…we got dessert cocktails on the house.  This also has a great story behind it.  And it was very delicious too!

Will I go again?

Absolutely!

I love the flights…I want to try them all!  Plus, I gotta go back for those brussell sprouts.  🙂
