Being healthy is so much more fun when you have a partner in crime. Or not in crime.
I set a goal to lose 15 pounds by my birthday…May 25. That is roughly 2 pounds a week. Very do-able. I made a chart and plotted my weight loss…I know, I’m a nerd. I love charts.
Well, the good news is my husband decided he would eat healthy and exercise with me. He also wants to lose 15 pounds by my birthday. ( I had to make a hand written column on my chart for him) One good thing about my husband is that he is very committed. If he is not eating carbs, he is NOT.EATING.CARBS.
Friday night, he even asked me if the wings I was eating were breaded. Whoops. Wait, what? Usually, his form of dieting is not getting the King size bag of peanut M&Ms at the store. Now, he is jogging around the neighborhood, drinking protein shakes, and excited about the salads, and bun less burgers I make for dinner.
Check out this picture of one of my new favorite colorful salads. Cucumbers, red onions, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, tossed in red wine vinegar and a little olive oil.
We have allowed ourselves 1 cheat meal a week to rev up our metabolism, and keep us on track. Yum. I”ll post about that later.
Seriously, I have lost about 1 pound per month over the past 5 months. Because I feel the need to have cheat days/weeks versus 1 cheat meal per week. Having my partner in crime, helps so much. I have already lost 3 pounds in 1 week. I don’t even want to know how much he has lost. Guys lose weight so much easier. He probably already lost all 15 pounds this week.
