I heard a lot about bulletproof coffee since I started eating hflc (high fat/low carb) a few months ago. I wanted to try it when I was doing the fat fast back in June, but never got around to it. (I also wanted to point out that I did that fat fast 3 months ago and I have kept off the 8 pounds I lost from that…some people were interested to see if the weight came back after the fast was over.)
Eating this way has really improved my skin, my sleep, my mood (keto high anyone?), energy levels, and most importantly my UC. I read this article on how this person used the ketogenic diet to treat his IBS. I know I have talked about how IBS and IBD are not the same, but many of the symptoms are the same.
I finally tried the bulletproof coffee and I’m officially hooked. Best breakfast ever! I feel energized without the jitters that sometimes go along with too much coffee. It is a pretty high fat bomb, so it sticks with you until lunch.
On to the recipe!
Here is what you need: hot coffee, 1 tablespoon of butter (preferably grass-fed), 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, 1 packet of stevia, and 2 tablespoons of heavy cream. (This is what I used. You can eliminate the butter, use MCT oil instead of coconut oil, not use the stevia…)
Put everything in the blender. It will look like this. Don’t worry. It is about to be on so hard. Harder than Donkey Kong ever thought about being.
There she is. Frothy and creamy and the best thing ever. This is will seriously change your life.
