Top Posts of 2016

I will be the very first one to admit that 2016 was not my best blogging year.  In fact, I took off for months at a time, and even wrote THIS POST about why I took a break.

I have made a decision to try again in 2017.  I really enjoy it…even if it is just for me and my family.  When I went to my high school reunion this year, several friends begged me to keep it up.  And as much as I may embarrass my husband, I know secretly he enjoys it!  Sometimes,  I like to think about my grandkids and great grandkids looking through my blog.  Seeing what books we read, what we ate, my favorite things,  funny favorites, and… how flexible Granny was!

Here is a look at my top posts of 2016:

  1.  Teaching Schedule: always in the top 10…I plan to update it weekly with my latest and greatest!
  2. Recipes:  I promise to keep updating this page!  It is one of my favorites to share throughout the year.
  3. It Has Been A Year: A look back at a year.  A year of grief.  A year when my heart was so broken and I felt broken.  My dad is in heaven.  January 8th will be two years…which is pretty unbelievable.  There are days when it seems like yesterday and other days when it seems like that was 10 years ago.
  4. Proposal Roast:  Ya’ll need a ring, huh?  I cannot believe this was the fourth most read blog.  It came in at over 8,000 views!  I know I saw a few engagements on Facebook…I wonder if this roast had anything to do with it!?
  5. Letter To Myself:  I absolutely LOVED this exercise and plan to do it again in January of 2017.  Even though not everything happened as planned it was so empowering.
  6. Body Composition-Part II:  all about how the scale blows.  And how working out and eating clean can get you some pretty sweet gains otherwise.
  7. May Favorites-  it still surprises me how well these “favorite” posts go over.  Not sure why it is so surprising.  I know I love reading/talking  about foods, lotions, workouts and other faves from others.
  8. The Scoop On…Plexus Slim:  This was a fun little segment I started!  The plan was to go through each product in the Plexus line with the “scoop” on each.  I will definitely finish this off in 2017!  I did get as far as doing one more scoop.  Click HERE to read about Plexus Block.
  9. Dinner for Twelve:  The yummy 12 places in Charlotte I picked to eat at.  This is TOTALLY on my list to hurry up and complete.  I mean…hello?!  Why did I not fulfill this dream destiny?  🙂
  10. Weekend Recap:  Again…You guys love reading just normal everyday things that my family and I do.  And I love that.  xo

Okay 2017.  I’m coming.  <3

Why I took a month off from blogging

IMG_3946

I haven’t sat down to write a blog post in over a month.  I didn’t even update my teaching schedule.

Why?

Lots of reasons that make lots of sense and others don’t make much sense at all.  Like…. I don’t know, I’ve been busy, I would rather read,  I don’t have anything to say, I have too much to say, my kids need me, my husband needs me, It is not income producing for me, I don’t want to, it takes to long to upload pictures, my computer is slow,  people don’t care what I have to say, I don’t have time, I’m not a good writer, I want to enjoy life and not take a picture of everything I do and then write a novel about it.

So, that is what has been going on.

I went to Nashville with my girlfriends.

I went to Vegas for the annual Plexus Convention.

Then I went to  Nags Head with my family.

I am working hard and I feel spoiled all at the same time.  I am eating clean (90/10) and exercising.  I am taking care of my skin with quality products, monthly facials, and by wearing sunscreen.  I bought myself a fancy purse and wallet because I deserve it and I am worth it.  I am planning a winter get away for my family in December…somewhere tropical.  I am reading books and listening to podcasts that light fires under my butt daily.  I surround myself with people that challenge, support and believe in me.  I set goals and announce them proudly.  And then just change the date if the timing wasn’t quite right.

I am deliriously happy.  I am unbelieveably healthy.  (I forget I even have UC on most days!) My husband is a dream for the most part and the kids are pretty awesome too.  I love teaching yoga, working my plexus business, and having my energy clients.  I cry multiple times a week in gratitude.

I have lunch, coffee, dinner and wine dates often.  I love how full my social calendar is.  And, it’s on my terms.  I pick and choose what I need.  I also carve out my own time.  I need quiet, “Kacy” time and I love that I have the freedom to do that.

I’ve tried a few recipes I would like to share soon.  I have been reading some books that I want to tell you about.  I plan to finish my #37in37 list.  I still have a lot of restaurants on my #dinnerfortwelve list to review.

So, stick by me if you can.  I don’t know where I am going with this…I am not ready to give it up quite yet.  Just not ready to put my life on hold and put in the time it takes to post blogs multiple times a week.

#37in37- update 6

Its time for an update!

My 38th birthday is fast approaching, and I think I may need an extension on the last few 37in37 items!  Maybe I can call it 37in38andahalf.  That would give me through November to knock these last few out!

37in37 #26:  Go to a concert with my husband.  We have not been to a concert in soooooo long.  I think since we were dating.  We went to the I Love the 90s tour in Greenville with another couple.  I saw it was coming to Charlotte in September–highly recommend!

37in37 #1:  Ride the Fury at Carowinds. I tagged along with our church youth group a few Sundays ago to knock this one out.  It was pretty scary…but I think I will end up riding it again this summer.   We have season passes, and Brody is tall enough to ride everything this year!

37in37   #18:  Pick berries.  This was a fun family outing…you can read more about it in THIS POST.

37in37   #36:  Get fitted for a bra.  Did you know that 78 percent of women are walking around in the wrong size?  Most women wear a cup too small and a band size too big!  Do yourself a flavor and get fitted!

37in37 # 14:  This was supposed to be smoke a hookah, but that is gross, so I turned it into go on a pedal tour.   Because pedaling around Nashville,  drinking beer,  and singing at the top of your lungs is not gross.  It’s awesome.  🙂

37in37  #34:  Hold a handstand for 10 seconds.  I am folding on this one.  Yes, I promise I will keep practicing.  But my best is about 8 seconds and I am so good with that.

37in37  #8:  Walk in the Crohn’s and Colitis Walk I switched this one out as well, because it was too far to travel. I decided to switch it to another charity, Tunnel to Towers.  My husband and I raised $200 and climbed the Duke Energy building…50 flights of stairs.  You can read more about Tunnel to Towers by checking out THIS BLOG POST.

Not much left…thanks for giving me a little leeway and letting me extend my journey!

Have an awesome Saturday!  Check out my teaching schedule and come do some yoga next week with me!    xo
