The worst thing about vacation is coming home. All the unpacking, laundry, and just getting back into the swing of things. (meaning no more brownie sundaes and frozen drinks.)
My son and I just got back from a long weekend in Florida. We had an amazing time visiting with friends and family.
It was Brody’s first plane ride. Before we get on the plane, he tells me he is going to make good friends with the pilot. In case he wants to change seats. I told him that you pretty much have to sit where you are assigned. He was sad because he wanted to sit out on the wing.
My friend decided to come along to Florida with us, and brought her two kids along. It was great to have her and her kids–they were awesome travel companions.
Her husband was with my husband (and my daughter) in West Virginia on a mission trip. It worked out perfect. Even though we were outnumbered, the kids got along really well! And our husbands prayed for our sinful ways daily.
The friends we were visiting just moved to Ponte Vedra, from Charlotte and we were so excited to visit them. The kids were excited to see that there was a pool in the backyard!
Friday was LEGOLAND day! We got up early to drive the 3 hours to Orlando. This place is really cool and a definite must if you have Lego enthusiasts in the family. I would not recommend going in July when it is the hottest day in the history of this planet though. My eyeballs were sweating.
On Saturday, my cousin came and picked up Brody and I so we could visit with family and eat some ribs. The best ribs ever from this place called The Pig. I ate a bunch of ribs and stopped after about seven…since we were going to the beach later that day. (My cousin told me just to keep eating and don’t worry about it. Just tell everyone that I was a country girl!)
We couldn’t leave without swinging on the rope over the catfish pond!
