I taught my first donation class on Saturday at Laughing Buddha for my September Project 12. I am so humbled by the friends who showed up to support me and help raise money for Thompson. I was so excited to see some of my regular Laughing Buddha yogis, my yoga students from other studios, a long time PE teacher friend, Thompson employees, out of towners, and a friend from church. I am well on my way to reach my goal of $1200. It just kept adding up… I thought it was $413, but later on in the day, Laughing Buddha called and said more money was dropped off…Making my total $453! I am over the moon!
24 amazing yogis showed up for a 7:30am class. I cranked the heat up and led them through a pretty vigorous flow. It was a mixed level class, so I offered modifications for the beginners, and suggested deeper variations for the seasoned yogis. The energy in the room was really amazing. I know that sounds crazy to a non-yogi, but it was almost as if this awesome grateful, giving spirit was ignigted in all of us.
I chose this Chinese Proverb to read in class that morning. It found it’s way to me really early on Saturday morning. (Of course, I woke up at 5 am with anxious butterflies.)
I love the last line…”So give goodness.”
