I subbed my first Yoga 101 class this week. It proved to be more of a challenge than I thought it would be. I had 20 students, and only a handful had done yoga. (and those came the day before for the first time) I had to give alignment cues that I don’t normally have to give in intermediate/advanced classes. I like the idea that I learned from those newbies.
I also taught a free Yoga in the Park, sponsored by Lululemon. It was wonderful weather, fantastic energy, and a great turn out. A couple of friends (who don’t do yoga) thought I was crazy for teaching this class and not getting paid for it. I don’t know a yoga teacher who is in it for the money. Cause there ain’t none. Seriously, I did it because I love yoga, and I love teaching it. I love the sun and warmth and grass. I love the gratitude expressed. The picture above brings tears to my eyes even today. This thing we call yoga is a beautiful thing.
The group of yogis in savasana. How peaceful.
Update on my eats– I have been really into mashed cauliflower. This week, I added chicken breasts to it, mixed in cream cheese, and topped with some cheddar. (I tried to make this my only dairy of the day) This is creamy and comforting.
My husband and I are doing awesome on our, “Let’s lose 15 pounds by Memorial Day” challenge. Well, he is anyway. He passed the 15 pounds week one. He is down 23 pounds, and I am down 7 pounds.
I feel this expansion in my heart and spirit, but a reduction in my waistline. How nice does that feel?
Disclaimer: If I didn’t have this fabulous brain and these beautiful breasts, I’d be down 7 more. ha.
